Each year, approximately 1.5 million homeless animals are killed. (American Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals, 2018). To reach and sustain the end of the killing of homeless dogs, spay/neuter surgeries must be made widely available and financial support must be available to help those of limited means.
Many of the rural central California communities from where we rescue dogs simply do not have the resources available to spay/neuter their dogs. Our experience running free and low cost clinics for these communities shows us that, contrary to popular belief, demand for spay/neuter is great.
